Why Ritz Carlton beat Four Seasons (and every other 5 start hotel brand as well)

I received this email today for my friend and I who are planning to spend the 4th of July in New York. I chose downtown. I'm an old Marriott World Trade Center Gal.

Good Afternoon Mr. X,

Thank you for selecting The Ritz-Carlton, New York, Battery Park for your 2 upcoming reservations on July Xrd for 2 nights. Please be so kind to let us know what time we can anticipate your arrival.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to be your home away from home while in New York. Please let us know if you will be celebrating any special occasion through out your stay or if you have any special Housekeeping requests.

If you are traveling with children, kindly let us know their names and ages so that we can make sure they are as comfortable with their visit as we anticipate you will be.

We highly recommend making restaurant, spa, and transportation reservations in advance. Please do not hesitate to call or email me personally should you have any questions or if I may be of any further assistance. We look forward to welcoming you to The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park.

Best regards,

Decorating Tips from the Pottery Barn

Nice tips. Nice people. They seem to have every other Sunday. I've made it to a couple. This was the first about using candles mostly. Today was about flowers and other decorations for small and very large events. Inexpensively!!!

SpaGypsy Day Spa Review: Simply L Spa, Greenwich, CT

I had the good fortune to go to Simply L Spa on Sunday, June 12th, for a massage. I went there because I was looking for a deal, but most places are not open on Sunday. I actually had gift certificates that I could have used at Noelle in Stamford, CT and others, but they are closed. My comments about the service:
-Deep Tissue Massage-5 star!
-Foot Massage-5 star!
-Hours of Operation-5 star!
-Staff-5 star!
-Facility-4 star! It's small which I like, but I could hear the reception phone ring which is generally annoying. (though my treatment was so great, I didn't let it bother me).
-Price-5 star! I bought a Spa Week gift certificate at 10% off on line, then took advantage of their grand opening special of 20% off. So with tip, 1 and 15 min. services was $100.00 with tip! That's a great deal, particularily in Greenwich, CT.
-Likely to return-Very Likely
-Will recommend-Definitely
